BACH CHORALE CHILDREN AND YOUTH AUDITIONS

Hi prospective singer,

Bach Chorale Children and Youth choirs will hold auditions on the following dates:
Monday, January 9
Monday, January 23

The auditions will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 615 North 22nd St. This is our new rehearsal location. Twenty Second St. is off Union at the top of the hill where Union and Salem split.
If your singer is 7-9 years old, please come at 6:15.
If your singer is 10 years or older, please come at 7:00.

Adult Choir will be having auditions on the following dates:
Monday, January 9
Monday, January 16

The auditions are by appointment. Additional audition times granted if needed. Please contact Karen Goff at kgsoprano@frontier.com with your date of preference and she will assign you a time. The rehearsals for the season begin on Monday, January 9, 2012

All auditions for the Bach Chorale Singers are held at the Jefferson High School Choir Room. Please park in the circle drive in front of the school if there is ample parking. Enter door #20 and follow the signs to the Choir Room.

Here is what to expect at the auditions:
You will be singing for the director and an audition committee
1. Vocal warm-ups to test the timbre and range of the voice
2. Pitch matching recall exercises
3. Melodic and rhythmic sight-reading
4. Singing a hymn or chorale of the director's choice
5. Singing a piece of your choice that is well prepared and suits your voice. As you select your music, please keep in mind that the Chorale prepares music that is generally of the traditional classic choral repertoire.

Please arrive a few minutes early to fill out a few documents.
Bach Chorale Rehearses weekly on Monday evenings at Lafayette Jefferson High School from 7:00 to 9:30pm. Lafayette Jeff is at 1801 S. 18th street in Lafayette, Indiana.
