Founded by the Bach Chorale Singers in 2001, the second High School Choir Festival will bring together 150 students representing five outstanding high school choirs, the 70 members of the Bach Chorale Singers, and a professional 40-piece orchestra for a thrilling combined concert under the renowned baton of Robert Porco, Conductor of the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus and the Cinncinnatti May Festival Chorus. The first half of the concert features the participating ensembles in a Showcase of Choirs, presenting selections from their repertoire under their own conductors, After the intermission all 200 voices come together for a performance of Vaughan Williams’ choral and orchestral masterpiece Dona nobis pacem set to the immortal poetry of Walt Whitman.
